Testing Policy for 10th Graders Guidance Letter
US Department of Education Math & Science Partnership Program (MSP): is authorized under Title II Part B of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001. The program has been enacted to increase the academic achievement of students in mathematics and science by enhancing the content knowledge and teaching skills of classroom teachers. Awards are currently one year, with the possibility of continue funding for up to two additional years. Eligible applicants consist of a partnership with one District of Columbia high-need local educational agency (LEA) and one science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) department within an institution of higher education (IHE). Additional partners may include additional STEM departments within an IHE, additional public/charter schools, private schools and/or a business. Upcoming Funding Opportunities–The Office of the State Superintendent of Education is pleased to announce the release of two Requests for Applications (RFAs), under the No Child Left Behind Act, Title II B - Mathematics and Science Partnerships (MSP* and Title II D - Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT)*. These two competitive grant opportunities focus on improving the academic outcomes of our children. The Mathematics and Science Partnerships grant focuses on the professional development of Science and Mathematics teachers in Science and/or Mathematics through partnerships with a high need Local Education Agency (LEA) and a Higher Institute of Education (IHE). The Enhancing Education Through Technology grant improves student achievement through the integration of technology and curriculum.
